Custom Blue Line Spring 2012
This is a Blue line Guitar built for Roddy Ellias. I built it around custom specs that would give him both a wonderful acoustic sound but also provide him with a practical guitar he could gig with and plug in. It is made from all European tone-woods and is carved to be an extremely responsive acoustic archtop. To give the Blue Line a little more air movement I increased the depth from the standard 2.5″ to a little over 3″. It will have all ebony fittings and a floating handmade Kent Armstrong humbucker pickup attached to the neck with stealth wiring. The neck on this guitar is a little longer than the normal Blue Line at 25″. Here are a few pictures that show some stages of the build up to the first couple coats of finish.
