2015 Amati
This Amati was commissioned for a player with a classical, fingerstyle approach, and was built around their needs and preferences. It is carved from all European tonewoods, including highly flamed maple and Carpathian Spruce. The appointments are ebony with a subtle hint of Macassar Ebony on the rear. The neck has quite a wide taper to it and is flatter in profile than most necks I have carved in order match my customer’s request. This Amati is bound in flamed maple with a neck bound in ebony. The top is braced with parallel tone bars which work really nice with the overall vibe of the Amati and provide a sound that is lush and balanced. It features a Kent Armstrong floating humbucker and an internal K&K soundboard pickup.
