Hear a Blue Line on the new album Trekan, featuring Roddy Ellias, Andrew Downing, and Petr Cancura
Trekan is an album full of beautiful compositions that toy with playfulness, calmness, and at times a little chaos. Each musician’s voice is highlighted as they weave beautifully in and out of one another. The recording itself is done in a cozy and intimate way, allowing us hear the nuances of the acoustic instruments, including Roddy’s Blue Line archtop. Roddy demonstrates its versatility; sounding sometimes like a harp and in other instances a rich jazz box.
Roddy’s Blue Line was made in 2011. It has european woods; Spruce and Maple from the Carpathian mountains. The top is braced with parallel tone bars and the scale length is 25″. The body depth at the sides on this Blue line is 3.25″.
