Review of Bob Taylor’s book “Guitar Lessons, A life’s Journey Turning Passion Into Business”

Bob Taylor’s new book, “Guitar Lessons”, is an inspirational look into Bob’s successful life and how he co-founded and built one of the largest guitar companies to this day. Finding many common threads between my life and Bob’s including his personal growth, interests, and roadblocks, I read this book quickly. I have to admit that every time I bookmarked a page to come back to, I was instantly inspired to get back to work.

This book was written for the average, non-guitar-maker reader. There were times in the book when leaps in his career were jumped into but one cannot possibly write every single detail of their lives and building a multi-million dollar company in two hundred pages.

Coming from a similar background I wanted to hear more small and descriptive details about his growth and how he designed certain aspects of his company. It was obvious that Bob Taylor is an amazing and extremely intuitive guitar maker and that he had a goal set in his head from the instant he took apart his first guitar. He stayed true to his life’s passion and his goal was to improve quality as well as quantity from the minute they renamed the company to Taylor. Bob is very honest in admitting his hardships and areas of business that he is not good in. These realizations are the reasons that he is successful and he is the first to tell you this.

Overall I thought that Bob’s book was very inspirational. Anytime a reader can reflect upon perseverance, determination, passion, and honesty, they can take these qualities a step deeper into their own lives and this was Bob Taylor’s main message: “Turning Passion Into Business”.
