Guitar Trio – with Ben Allison on Bass. Chico Pinheiro, Anthony Wilson and Steve Cardenas
A wonderful version of ‘FALL’ – with Chico Pinheiro, Anthony Wilson, Steve Cardenas and Ben Allison. Recorded live at the 2019 Stowe Jazz Festival. Mixed by George Walker Petit.
The Stowe Jazz Festival is a magical experience on so many levels. It is such an intimate experience, the musicians and the people feel like one big happy family. The setting among the beautiful grounds of Alchemist Brewery with the multi colored foliage, the big, fast moving sky, the colder evenings, the great food, the wine, the late night jams, the dancing, the smiles, the growth and rekindling of great friendships, it just goes on and on. It’s a weekend much anticipated and a weekend that goes by way too quickly.
The Stowe Jazz festival in 2019 was extra special for me because Anthony Wilson got to borrow one of my guitars for the whole weekend. It was such a delight to sit in the audience throughout the weekend and witness the relationship between Anthony and one of my guitars. It’s moments like this that I will remember in my minds’ eye for the rest of my life and career.
This recording of Chico’s tunes ‘Fall” took place on Saturday night as the sun was going down. Steve playing his 335, Chico his signature Benedetto, Anthony playing the ‘Red Rocket’ Chicagoan, and Ben Allison on his upright bass. See if you can pick it out! 🙂
