Every year or so I do a batch of electrics, usually a batch of four guitars. Each guitar is built off of the same construction design, with the floating-neck through concept. This construction concept uses the natural taper of the neck as a long wedge which mates as a tight dovetail to the chambered body. The chamber shape of the body has evolved over the years to balance weight distribution and resonance. Every guitar is designed around a specific client which allows the discussion and playful use of tonewoods. I have found a great relationship with the use of a Honduran Mahogany body and the density and hardness of a slab cut Birdseye maple neck (not to mention they look so great together). All of the electrics come with hand made pickups by the legendary, Ron Ellis, a perfect pickup to bring out the beautiful nuances of these instruments. I could not think of a better pairing.<\/p>\n
